did you see the photo on the cover of "camp" magazine? impressive. i don't know how many mayors in the bible belt would appear on the cover of a gay publication cutting a rainbow-colored cake in honor of gay pride. i hope a lot, considering it's actually a very small gesture, but i bet not many. go kay.

I saw the picture on Camp. It was cool. But still. This basketball picture gives me the creeps. And... one cool picture doesn't redeem her from a career of moronic policy and patronage politics.

Enough with the congratulations of Barnes being on the Camp cover. She is termed out. She has less than a year left in office. She isn't running for anything. It only have been impressive had she done it BEFORE her last election.

Hey, I wasn't saying it was like the most awesome thing anyone had ever done for gay rights or that it should change anyone's opinion of her policy in general. Like I said, it's a SMALL GESTURE. But as such, I appreciate it. And Joe's pic made me think of it. That is all. Dissing small gesture strikes me as counterproductive... it's not like that encourages larger, ballsier gestures among other politicians down the road. Regardless, I didn't mean to suggest, by congratulating her for this small gesture, that small gestures make up for large mistakes. I just wondered if others (mostly Joe) had seen it. Take it easy, pals.
